The Threshold Room is the first space in the exhibition and introduces visitors to the Balloon Museum and its vision.
Here, a video created in collaboration with Rit.ai is presented, serving as the narrative opening of the experience. The work accompanies the entrance into the exhibition and anticipates its key themes through a story set in New York, where perception and imagination become central elements. The video marks the transition from everyday perception to a more open and imaginative dimension, preparing the audience for the installations they will encounter.
The Threshold Room thus functions as a transitional device: it prepares visitors to suspend their usual perceptual coordinates and enter a dimension in which reality expands and takes shape through the act of seeing. It is the first gateway of the exhibition, where viewers are invited to leave the outside world behind and enter a sensitive system made of images, emotion, and participation.
