Within the exhibition Euphoria, which transforms the entire Grand Palais into a diffuse exhibition landscape, the creative studio Hyperstudio presents The Grand Resonance: a monumental kinetic installation created in collaboration with Alessia Petrangeli, Daniele Davino, and Elena Raimondi, which brings to life the vast nave, the iconic and symbolic space of the building. Inspired by Newton’s cradle, The Grand Resonance transforms a physical principle into an emotional and perceptual experience: like a chain of impulses transmitted from one body to another, the work stages a continuous choreography of energy, reflection, and propagation. Euphoria, in this vision, becomes the shared movement of energy: a sensitive, unstoppable passage from one element to the next, from one individual to another.
A series of large suspended spheres with silver mirrored surfaces oscillate and move laterally, generating complex and fluid trajectories. The audience, reflected in each sphere, finds itself an integral part of the system, immersed in a field of dynamic forces where perception is in constant transformation. A calibrated lighting system strikes the moving spheres, multiplying the reflections within the Nef and transforming it into a vibrant architectural organism. Sound accompanies the luminous dance with an enveloping composition, synchronizing with the movements and accentuating the space’s resonance. The viewer can observe this symphony of matter and reflection from the upper balconies, like from a theater gallery; or walk through it, guided by rhythm, light, and their own image.
With The Grand Resonance, Hyperstudio explores the beating heart of Euphoria’s concept: the moment when energy, light, and perception merge, generating an expanded and collective state of presence
