ABOUT US

Balloon Museum is now open in Lower Manhattan with DAYDREAM, its fifth exhibition and first permanent flagship, located at the Tin Building in New York. A new chapter for the project and for its exploration of contemporary interactive art

Since its debut in Rome in 2021, Balloon Museum has travelled the world, becoming a global cultural phenomenon and welcoming more than 8 million visitors across 23 cities.

At its core is a simple yet radical proposition: air — the most immaterial of substances — can also become one of the most powerful materials in contemporary art.

Through monumental, out-of-scale installations, Balloon Museum places the relationship between artwork and audience at the centre of the experience. Art is not simply observed, but touched, entered, activated and shared. Never static.

This approach has contributed to bringing Inflatable Art to an increasingly prominent position within the international contemporary art landscape.

Its first four exhibitions — Pop Air, Let’s Fly, EmotionAir and Euphoria — chart an extraordinary evolution in scale, artistic research and international reach. In 2025, Euphoria at the Grand Palais in Paris marked a defining moment in this journey, drawing record audiences and further establishing Balloon Museum within the global contemporary art scene.

Today, DAYDREAM carries that evolution forward. The exhibition brings together leading international artists — including Marina Abramović, Boris Acket, Martin Creed and Karina Smigla-Bobinski — across a series of interactive environments that blur the boundaries between perception and imagination, asking a deceptively simple question:

Where does reality end, and imagination begin?
